About the organisation:
Zero Waste Montenegro was established in 2016 with the aim of addressing one of Montenegro’s most pressing environmental challenges: waste pollution.
Our mission is to transform waste management in Montenegro by promoting the principles of zero waste and the circular economy. We work to increase resource efficiency, strengthen environmental education, and support institutions, municipalities, and businesses in adopting cutting-edge zero-waste practices.
Our Goals:
- Promoting a circular economy and moving away from waste incineration and landfilling
- Promoting the zero waste hierarchy, methodology, and best European practices
- Educating and raising awareness on waste, circular economy, sustainable living, environmental protection, and social justice
- Building cooperation with public institutions, businesses, and citizens to improve waste management in Montenegro
